Online Lessons Now Available on Your Desktop, Laptop or Ipad2 Using Skype, ooVoo, or Facetime!
Most people would rather have harp lessons in person, but that just isn’t possible for many people. If you live in or close to a major metropolitan area anywhere in the world, you are likely to be able to find a reputable harp teacher with whom to study in person.
The difficulty is that there are many people out there living in smaller towns and rural areas who would LOVE to learn how to play the harp, but there just are no teachers anywhere close to them.
Many of those people either give up on the idea entirely or they try to teach themselves how to play–neither one of which is good!
So, the main benefit of online harp lessons is that so many more people have access to them. I can sit in my home in Houston and teach someone in Stockholm, Kyoto, California, or Canada to play lever harp, pedal harp, or cross-strung harp. As long as you speak pretty good English, I can teach you how to play.
Speaking of that, cross-strung harp is one of the reasons why I first started thinking about teaching lessons online. I don’t think that there are more than a dozen people in the whole United States who teach cross-strung harp and many people who are interested but who don’t have access to one of those teachers in person.
Problem solved. You’re in the right place.
Another advantage of taking harp lessons online is that you don’t have to travel any distance at all to get to your lesson. You don’t have to fight traffic or bad weather or spend money on gas.
Also, you don’t have to play on a strange harp like you would if you were going to a teacher’s studio for your lessons. You can play the harp you are used to in the comfort of your own home.
You don’t have to get dressed up either. If you want to do your lessons wearing your pajamas and bunny slippers, I promise I won’t be offended.
You can also save a lot of time. Living in a huge metropolitan area as I do, I have some students who travel 30-60 minutes or more each way to get to and from their lessons. That adds up to three hours or more out of their day for a one-hour lesson. So, for people with busy schedules, saving that kind of time can be really valuable.
So, taking your harp lessons online can save you time, expense, gas, and bother while providing you with high-quality instruction with an excellent teacher. What could be better?
And, the good part for me is that I don’t have to clean house before an online lesson!

Hello Katherine, I can’t imagine how I overlooked your post about your interest in taking online harp lessons, but I do apologize. I do have opening for online lessons right now and could get started any time you’d like.
Do you have a harp to use or would you need help finding one to rent?
I’m very interested. How much are the lessons?
Shalom Elizabeth!
I have a 23 string Celtic Harp that I am ready and eager to start lessons on. When, where, how much? Eager to begin learning !!

I have a lever harp, started lessons using suzuki method…do not like that method. I played clarinet through school, but actually play better after hearing a piece, then I can memorize it.
I have had 3 shoulder surgeries which is why I stopped lessons as well.
I just want to learn the basics and then get help with difficult pieces
I will primarily play for myself or occassionally in church.
What is the charge for your lessons andwhat method do you teach?
Hi! I live in a rural area and have always been fascinated by the harp. May I ask what you charge per lesson? Thanks.
