I started conducting a world-wide count of harpists on August 3, and I have had a lot more responses from all over the world since the last time I posted an update. Please see the most current totals by country below.
PLEASE help me get as many harpists as possible included in this count. Ask any harpists you know anywhere in the world who play any kind of harp to send an e-mail with their first name, last initial, city, state, and country to cross_harps@yahoo.com with HARPIST COUNT in the subject line. You can also provide your information in the Comments box below.
For safety’s sake, please don’t put your full name or the names of other harpists in your area on this page. If you would like to give me other harpists’ names, please send them to me at cross_harps@yahoo.com.

I’m Vanja Ferreira, harpist in Rio de Janeiro – Brazil. My complete name is Evangelina Bezerra Ferreira. I’m harpist in the National Symphonic Orchestra and teacher. Now in Brazil, we gonna make the 1st Harp Competition, for latin-american harpists. I’m very happy about the expansion of the harp in Brazil.
