Harp Inspiration

by Elizabeth on February 23, 2010

I frequently look around on YouTube for videos of pieces that my students are working on so they can watch other harpists play and hear what their pieces are supposed to sound like.

One of my favorite harpists on YouTube is Xavier de Maestre.  This young man is an absolutely brilliant harpist in every way.  His technique is beautiful, and his musicality is something to be envied.

I played “The Moldau” with an orchestra last fall and really enjoyed that piece, but I found this video of Xavier playing a solo harp version of The Moldau, and it absolutely took my breath away.

I would highly recommend that you check out his other videos.  Clair de Lune is stunning, also.

This is a very talented young man!
