Sheer Brilliance on the Harp!

by Elizabeth on July 13, 2011

French-born harp virtuoso, Silvain Blassel, is undoubtedly one of the top five harpists performing today.

I wanted to share an incredible video with you. This is Silvain playing Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsodie No. 2, a piece from piano repertoire that pretty much any other harpist would tell you would be absolutely impossible to play on the harp. Yet here it is!

This just goes to show what can be done if you are willing to put in the practice!!! Lots and LOTS of practice!!!

This performance is beyond description, so I will just let you see for yourself!

To learn more about this extraordinary performer, please visit his website at http://www.sylvainblassel.com (in French) or do a Google search on his name.

Amazing! Is he really human? The chromatic work is unbelievable and so many great shots of his hands from different angles too. Thanks for posting this!
